May 4 Grocery Bagging at Giant Eagle - Monday, April 15, 2013

The 2nd Annual AAEA Giant Eagle Grocery Bagging Event will take place on Saturday, May 4 from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM.  Last year, the event was a huge success, so we are asking for your help to again show the public that our AASD teachers care about our community.  We will also be filling each grocery bag with a list of "cool" things going on in our schools.  So, if you can think of something that is noteworthy in your school, please email me or take your suggestion to your building reps.  We would like to have each school represented!  These can be events, sports accomplishments, academic achievements, fine arts, special awards, or fundraising for charity.

We are asking teachers to consider donating an hour of their time on May 4 to help bag groceries.  Last year, it was a blast!  Please see the times below and consider signing up for one hour!

11:00 AM-12:00 PM
12:00 PM-1:00 PM
1:00 PM-2:00 PM
2:00 PM-3:00 PM
3:00 PM-4:00 PM

If you are able, please email me at hsoldner@altoonasd.com with the following information:

1.  Your name
2.  Your school
3.  Time(s) you would like to work.  I will try to get them as close as possible to your first choice.

* We would like teachers to wear your AASD KtO T-shirts to Giant Eagle to show that we are ONE TEAM!  Please email me with your times as soon as possible or with any questions you might have!

                              Thanks,

                                     Heidi :)

AAEA Variety Show Raises Funds for Project SOAR - Wednesday, March 27, 2013

The first-ever AAEA Variety Show was a huge success. Thanks to support from the community and hard work by association members, the show was able to benefit two great causes: Project SOAR and Sister Paula's Soup Kitchen.

Over 200 parents, students, faculty, staff and community members saw the show. Generous contributions and ticket sales allowed AAEA to make a $315 donation to Project SOAR. Over 50 non-perishable goods were collected for the soup kitchen.

Special guests Felix & The Hurricanes rocked the second half of the show. AAEA's very own Steve Oswalt fronted the group that night.

Thanks to all involved! We will see you next year!
